True Temperament® — Precision Intonation for Modern Guitars

True Temperament is a patented Swedish-developed fret system designed to solve one of the guitar’s oldest challenges: imperfect intonation. 

Traditional guitars use straight frets based on an old compromise, trying to get a temperament that works in any keys, but really is more complex. With our harmony preferences, most tunes get out of tune, and if we add string gauge and tension, the result is that many intervals create beating between notes

True Temperament replaces conventional straight frets with individually shaped, curved frets. Each fret is precisely designed so that every string achieves an optimized scale length at every position on the neck. The result is improved pitch accuracy across the entire fingerboard, allowing chords, intervals, and harmonies to sound more balanced and stable in all keys.
